Barbara and Gordon Dicker were born in Nelson but having travelled extensively in New Zealand and overseas know the type of accommodation which will suit a variety of clientele. They have been involved in many outdoor activities and are happy to advise you on places to visit for those who want to explore Nelson and surrounding regions. We warmly welcome you to Beacon View, a name chosen not only because of the many harbour beacons that can be seen from the house but also to reflect the long family connection with Nelson Lighthouse. Gordon's Great,Great Grandparents were lighthouse keepers for almost 30 years from soon after the lighthouse was erected on the Boulder Bank in 1861. He can recall the many stories his Great Grandmother told of her day to day life on the Boulder Bank and the family has continued to have strong connections with the sea.
